MOORHEAD, Minn.—The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team lost in three sets to No. 18-ranked Southwest Minnesota State University at home on Saturday. The Dragons lost by scores 25-12, 25-16, and 25-18.

MSUM fell to 9-17 overall and 3-7 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. SMSU improved to 16-10 overall and 10-8 in the NSIC.

SMSU went up quick in the first set as the Dragons found themselves down 9-1; they could not recover and lost the set 25-12. In set two, a SMSU service error allowed the Dragons to pull within three. The Mustangs scored the next seven points to give SMSU a 20-10 lead, and the Dragons ultimately lost the set 25-16. In the final set, SMSU jumped out to a 10-2 lead. The Dragons were able to make it 13-9 after a Jenkins kill, but couldn't complete the comeback and lost 25-18.
The loss marks the final home match for the Dragons. MSUM heads on the road for their final games of the season, with the first stop being in Wayne, Neb., for a matchup with Wayne State College. The game is set for Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. The following day, the Dragons head to Sioux Falls, S.D., to take on Augustana at 5 p.m.
