No. 18 Dragon Women Crush Rogers State, 98-41

ABERDEEN, S.D. — The No. 18 Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team shot 64.4 percent from the field in a 98-41 rout of Rogers State (Okla.) in action on Saturday at the Regional Challenge in Aberdeen, S.D.

MSUM is now 2-0 on the year while Rogers State fell to 0-2.

The Dragons hit 38-of-59 field goal attempts and shot an impressive 64.7 percent (11-of-17) from three-point range. Senior forward Megan Hintz had a huge game with a career-high 29 points on 11-of-13 shooting. She was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line and also added a team-high seven rebounds. Junior guard Brooklyn Liegel had 16 points and four assists while junior guard Sarah Jacobson had nine points, nine assists and five rebounds in just 21 minutes of action.

MSUM had 11 players score in the game, with five scoring eight points or more.

The Dragons led 25-12 after one quarter and crushed Rogers State in the second quarter, outscoring the Hillcats 29-8 to build a 54-20 halftime advantage.

MSUM continued its strong play on the offensive end in the third quarter, scoring 29 more points to push the lead to 83-30 after three quarters.

Sophomore post Nicole Brown had nine points while freshman post Gabby Ritchie had eight.

The Dragons host the MSUM Classic this week. MSUM will face Metro State (Colo.) on Friday at 6 p.m. and then face Michigan Tech at 4 p.m. on Saturday. St. Cloud State will be the other team in the event but MSUM will not face the Huskies.
