No. 22 Dragon Women Host Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State This Weekend

The No. 22 Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team is back into Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play this week when it hosts Minnesota Crookston at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Bemidji State at 3:30 p.m, on Saturday.

MSUM will meet Minnesota Crookston for a 46th time with the Dragons leading the series 37-8. The Dragons have won the last three meetings.  MSUM will face Bemidji State for a 111th time and leads the all-time series 71-39, The Dragons have won 10 straight meetings in the series, with Bemidji's last win coming on Jan. 17, 2014.

The Dragons went 1-2 at the Oahu Thanksgiving Classic in Hawaii last week, beating Hawaii-Hilo 61- 45 before losing to Cal State-San Marcos 62-60 in overtime and UC San Diego 60-54, San Marcos and UCSD are both ranked in the top 25 this week.

Senior forward Megan Hintz leads MSUM at 17.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game while junior guard Sarah Jacobson averages 10.5 points, 3.1 assists and 6.9 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Katie Tomstrom averages 8.1 points per game, Hintz leads with 12 blocks and Jacobson leads with 16 steals. Senior forward Madi Green averages 6.4 rebounds per game,

MSUM is outrebounding its opponents 48.0-30.6 and outscoring its foes 69.0-53.1.

Karla Nelson is in her 20th season as the MSUM head coach with a record of 358-197 at the school.
 
About Minnesota Crookston
The Golden Eagles are 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the NSIC after losing to Bemidji State, 72-50 on Monday night.

UMC is led in scoring by Bren Fox at 10.6 points per game and Julia Peplinski is at 9.0. Fox leads at 8.0 rebounds per game while Kylie Post and Emma Carpenter each average 2.0 assists per game. UMC is being outscored 73.0-60.8 this season and is outrebounding its foes 39.4-33.6.

Mike Roysland is in his 14th season as the UMC head coach with a record of 123-236.
 
About Bemidji State
The Beavers improved to 4-1 on the season with a 72-50 win at Minnesota Crookston on Monday. Brooklyn Bachmann had 17 points to lead BSU.

Trinity Myer leads Bemidji State at 13.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Claire Wolhowe averages 9,8 points per agme while Bachmann averages 9,6 points per game. Taylor Bray is at 6.0 rebounds per game.
BSU scores 66.8 points per game and allows 54.0. The Beavers outrebound their foes 41.0- 34.6.

Chelsea DeVille is in her fifth season as the BSU head coach with a record of 28-86 at the school.
