MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team lost a close NSIC dual to No. 10 Minnesota State on Sunday afternoon at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse by an 18-16 score.. MSUM won five matches on the afternoon but came up just short in its upset bid.

The dual started at 125 pounds with sophomore
Cole Jones (23-7) winning a major decision over Andrew McFall.
After Minnesota State won at 133 pounds redshirt freshman
Mason Schulz picked up a win via decision at 141 pounds to put MSUM up 7-0. MSUM picked up another win right before the intermission when freshman
Braydon Ortloff won a 14-7 decision over Daniel Close to put MSUM up 10-7.
Coming out of the intermission MSUM lost three straight matches, but won the last two as
Mitch Kotschevar won a decision over Dylan Butts, who is ranked No. 6 in the region. At 285 pounds sophomore
Jordan Magnuson won a 4-1 decision over Max Villnow.
MSUM now gets almost two weeks off before hosting the Super Region 5 tournament on Feb. 23 at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse.
