The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team opens NCAA tournament play on Friday, March 15 against Minnesota Duluth. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Central time in Hays, Kan. MSUM is the five seed in the Central Region while UMD is the fourth seed.
MSUM is 26-6 on the year and won the NSIC regular season title for a third straight year and the NSIC North title for a fourth straight year. The Bulldogs, the NSIC tournament champions, are 23-6.

MSUM will meet UMD for a fourth time in 2018-19 and 90th time overall with the Bulldogs leading the series 53-36. Each team won at home during the regular season by double digits; UMD won 52-48 in the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament final on March 5.

Megan Hintz leads MSUM at 15.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game while sophomore guard
Kiley Borowicz averages 14.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Senior guard
Jacky Volkert averages 12.5 points and 4.9 assists per game.
As a team MSUM scores 68.8 points per game and shoots 41.5 percent from the field. The Dragons outrebound their foes 40.8-32.2 and allow 59.2 points per game.
Karla Nelson is in her 19th season as the MSUM head coach with a record of 351-194 at the school. Nelson is the second-longest tenured head coach in the NSIC.

The Bulldogs are led by senior guard Sammy Kozlowski who averages 12.1 points and 4.0 assists per game. Sophomore forward Sarah Grow averages 11.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Brooke Olson averages 8.8 and Emma Boehm is at 8.7.
As a team UMD scores 66.2 points per game and allows 54.7. The Bulldogs outrebound their foes 36.1-35.8.
