MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon Fire Booster Club Appreciation Social and Graduating Student-Athlete Recognition is slated for Thursday, May 16 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Moorhead, Minn.
The social begins at 7 p.m. with the program at 7:30 p.m. that evening. Register online for the event

The evening includes listening to the positive impact the booster club creates by supporting student-athletes such as Jacky Volkert (women's basketball),
Evan Carlson (men's track & field) and
Monica Vega (volleyball). We will also recognize Head Coaches
Steve Laqua,
Karla Nelson,
Amanda Reckamp and Charlie King during the program. As tradition, the 2019 graduating student-athlete class will be honored before they transition to the next chapter as Dragon Alumni.
"The year-end celebration is always a bitter sweet event," Dragon Fire president Matthew Oachs said. "Although I am sad to see the student-athletes, leaving MSUM, I'm happy they chose to share the last 4 to 5 years with us and I'm excited for what their future holds. The grit, humility and heart they gained during their time at MSUM, has prepared them to be successful as they start their next chapters! All of this wouldn't be possible without the engagement from the Dragon Fire members and I know many of our members share the same sentiment as I do."
