Dragon seniors Logan Rhode, second from left, and Zach Scott, second from right, were honored on Thursday.

It was Senior Night for MSUM with Zach Scott and Logan Rhode being honored prior to the dual.

Sophomore Mason Schulz got on the board early at 141, getting back points in the first period. He added to the lead in the third period to complete a 9-0 major decision over Trevor Fauver.

"Mason Schulz wrestled a good match. He controlled the match," MSUM head coach Kris Nelson said.

Scott dominated his match against Mary's Devin Steidler, scoring early and often to take a big lead after the first period. He finished the technical fall in the second period by a 20-5 score to make it 10-9. Scott is a team-best 18-11 on the season.

"Zach Scott wrestled great. He wrestled hard the whole match and kept putting points on the board," Nelson said.

The Marauders won by pin at 157 and 165 to push the lead to 22-9. At 165, sophomore Braydon Ortloff was leading in the second period but Payton Hume turned the tables to take a win by fall in 4:38.

"We can't give up pins if we're going to win the dual," Nelson said.

Foster rolled to a major decision win at 174 to cut into the Marauder lead. He took the lead early and went on to beat Mary's Riley Mitchell 12-1 to bring MSUM within 22-13. Foster is now 17-12 on the year.

Senior Logan Rhode battled tough at 197 but dropped a 3-2 decision to Mary's Gerardo Jaime.

The 285-pound match was deadlocked at 1-1 in the third period but Mary's Dominic Tudor scored a reversal late to earn a 3-1 win over MSUM's Jordan Magnuson, who fell to 9-5 on the year.

MSUM will travel to Minneapolis, Minn., to face No. 2 Augsburg on Saturday at 7 p.m.
