MOORHEAD, Minn. — Four Minnesota State University Moorhead players scored in double figures as the Dragon women rolled past Minot State, 78-50 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference basketball Friday night in Moorhead, Minn.

MSUM, which ended a four-game losing streak with the win, moved to 17-11 overall and 12-9 in the NSIC while Minot State fell to 7-18 overall and 4-17 in the league. The Dragons will clinch a home game for the NSIC tournament first round win a win over Mary on Saturday.
It was Senior Night for MSUM with the two Dragon seniors —
Madi Green and
Megan Hintz — being honored after the game. It is the final home regular-season weekend for the two, who combined for 22 points and 11 rebounds in the game.
Sophomore forward
Peyton Boom scored 21 points with 9-of-9 shooting and also led with nine rebounds. Hintz finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Sophomore guard
Nicole Herbranson had 11 points while sophomore guard
Natalie Steichen had 10 points and five assists.
The Dragons out rebounded Minot 44-36 and forced 21 turnovers. The Dragons had a 23-5 edge in points off of turnovers.
MSUM got off to a strong start, leading 25-11 after the first quarter, thanks to 12 points from Boom, who was 5-of-5 in the opening frame.
The lead grew to 43-24 by halftime with Boom finishing with 14 first-half points and Herbranson 11.
The Dragons put the game out of reach with a 13-0 run to open the second half, stretching the lead to 56-24. Boom had six points during that run while Steichen had five. MSUM led by as many as 36 on its way to the win.
Green finished with seven points for MSUM, who hosts Mary at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
