The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team begins a stretch of four straight games on the road this week with contests at Southwest Minnesota State at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and No. 13 Sioux Falls at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Dragons won three of four in their latest homestand, including a 66-63 win over Minnesota State last Friday and a 67-66 win over Concordia-St. Paul last Saturday.
Peyton Boom averaged 19.5 points per game for the week for MSUM.
MSUM will meet SMSU for an 85th time and leads the all-time series 44-40. The Dragons have won nine straight in the series. MSUM will meet USF for a 13th time and holds a 7-5 series lead. The two teams split a year ago.
Hintz leads MSUM at 15.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while sophomore forward
Peyton Boom averages 10.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Junior guard
Sarah Jacobson averages 9.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while sophomore
Natalie Steichen averages a team-best 3.8 assists per game.
MSUM is outrebounding its opponents 44.6-31.8 and outscoring its foes 70.8-58.3.
Karla Nelson is in her 20th season as the MSUM head coach with a record of 368-202 at the school.
About SMSU
SMSU is 11-10 overall and 6-10 in the NSIC. The Mustangs split on the road last weekend, falling to Minnesota Crookston 64-53 on Friday before beating Bemidji State 69-58 on Saturday.
Meleah Reinhart leads SMSU at 15.3 points per game while Jenna Borchers averages 12.6 and Sadie Stelter 10.6. Abuk Akoi leads at 8.2 rebounds per game while Borchers leads at 2.5 assists per game.
SMSU scores 69.0 points per game and allows 66.5. The Mustangs are being outrebounded 39.0-38.8.
Tom Webb is in his fourth season as the SMSU head coach with a record of 31-71 at the school.
About No. 13 Sioux Falls
The Cougars are 20-3 overall and 13-3 in the NSIC. They swept on the road last weekend, beating Bemidji State 73-64 and Minnesota Crookston 77-59. USF has won 12 of 13 games.
Kaely Hummel leads USF at 18.0 points per game while Mariah Szymanski is at 11.3 and Anna Goodhope is at 10.7. Jacey Huinker leads at 8.5 rebounds per game while Szymanski averages 3.1 assists.
USF scores 77.7 points per game and allows 64.4. The are even in rebounds per game, 37.0-37.0.
Travis Traphagen is in his 12th season as the USF head coach with a record of 237-114 at the school.
