MARSHALL, Minn.—The Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team continued their win streak on Friday night with a 67-52 road win at Southwest Minnesota State. The Dragons have won four in a row, tied for the longest streak in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference at this time.
The Dragons improved to 15-8 overall and 11-6 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. SMSU fell to 7-16 overall and 4-13 in the NSIC.
The 52 points scored by SMSU is the lowest point total allowed by the Dragons this season against an NSIC opponent. The previous low was on Jan. 31, when MSUM took down Minnesota State-Mankato 88-63.
MSUM shot 52.9 percent (27-of-51) from the field and 37.5 percent (6-of-16) from beyond the arc compared to 48.9 percent (22-of-45) from the field and 66.7 percent (6-of-9) from three for the Mustangs.

Gavin Baumgartner led all scorers with 23 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from three. Senior guard
Johnny Beeninga scored 14 points. Sophomore guard
Bryce Irsfeld scored eight points and dished out a team-high four assists. Junior forward
Kaedrick Williams scored six points, recorded three assists, and grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
The Dragons controlled the game for the majority of the first half. A dunk by sophomore center
Jesse Bergh put the Dragons up 21-9 with 9:58 remaining in the first half. MSUM continued to keep the Mustangs at bay and went into the half up 37-29.
SMSU closed the gap in the second half. MSUM found themselves with just a one-point lead with 13:37 remaining at 43-42. A Mustang three-pointer gave SMSU their first lead since the first quarter when they were up 5-0 with 16:31 remaining in the first. With 9:33 remaining, the Mustangs led 49-47, which would be the last time they would hold the lead thanks to an 8-0 scoring run by the Dragons. MSUM kept the offense going, and closed the game with a 67-52 win, which marked their largest lead of the game.
The Dragons will look to make it five-straight wins tomorrow night against Sioux Falls (S.D.). Sioux Falls is currently sitting in first place in the NSIC South Division. Tip-off begins at 5:30 p.m.
