Dragon Volleyball Hosts Minnesota Duluth and No. 13 St. Cloud State This Week

The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team returns home for two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matchups.  The Dragons will face Minnesota Duluth Friday at 6 p.m. and conclude the weekend against No. 13 St. Cloud State at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

MSUM is 1-4 at home this season.

The Dragons are 3-16 on the season and 3-8 in the NSIC after road victories over Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State last week.  Those were the Dragons' first back-to-back wins this season.

Junior outside hitter Amanda Carlson leads the team in kills with 243, followed by junior outside hitter Bridget Witzmann with 102.  

Freshman setter Kelly Klees leads the team in set assists with 249, followed by freshman setter Halle Erickson with 213. 

Carlson leads with 26 service aces. Senior libero Sarah Petrbrok has 288 digs while Carlson has 184. Junior middle blocker Elise Bakke has 46 blocks while freshman Abby Thompson has 41.

Bob Jones is in his first season as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead.  

About Minnesota Duluth 

The Bulldogs are 12-7 on the season and 5-6 in the NSIC after victories over Minot State University and the University of Mary last week. Sophomore Cianna Selbitschka leads the team in kills with 293, followed by senior Kate Berg with 164. Junior Madison Gordon leads the team in set assists with 708. Jim Boos is in his 19th year as head coach at the University of Minnesota Duluth.  

About St. Cloud State 

The No. 13-ranked Huskies are 15-4 on the season and 10-1 in the NSIC after victories over the University of Mary and Minot State University last week. Sophomore Kenzie Foley leads the team in kills with 252, followed by senior Linsey Rachel with 223. Senior Maddy Torve leads the team in set assists with 780. Chad Braegelmann is in his sixth season as head coach at  St. Cloud State.
