The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team has three Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matchups this week starting against Northern State at home on Thursday at 6 p.m. The Dragons will then begin a stretch of four straight road games on Saturday at UMary for a 6 p.m., and then compete at Minot State on Tuesday.
The Dragons are 3-18 on the season and 3-10 in the NSIC after losses to Minnesota Duluth and No. 13 St. Cloud State last week.
Junior Amanda Carlson leads the team in kills with 274, followed by sophomore Bridget Witzmann with 120. Freshman Kelly Klees leads the team in set assists with 317, followed by Freshman Halle Erickson with 213.
Junior libero Sarah Petrbok has 315 digs while junior middle blocker Elise Bakke has 52 digs.
Bob Jones is in his first year as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
About Northern State
The Wolves are 12-9 on the season and 7-6 in the NSIC after losses to St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth last week. Senior Sally Gaul leads the team in kills with 294, followed by freshman Natalia Szybinska with 253. Junior Keri Walker leads the team in set assists with 872. Brent Aldridge is in his 11th season as head coach at Northern State University.
About UMary
The Marauders are 5-17 on the season and 2-11 in the NSIC after victories over Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston last week. Junior Nehkyah Ellis leads the team in kills with 161, followed by Senior Natalia Cruz with 136. Sophomore Kameron Selvig leads the team in set assists with 419. Abby Pollart is in her first year as UMary head coach.
About Minot State
The Beavers picked up their first win of the season over Minnesota Crookston on Friday. Alexandra Koontz has 113 kills while Sophia Peterson has 287 assists. Tea Boecekl has 122 digs while Jenna Pahlen has 37 blocks. Dana Cordova-Jacobson is in her fourth season as the Minot head coach.
