MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's swimming and diving team opens the 2021-22 regular season at home this Saturday against Northern State. The dual begins at 2 p.m. at the Nemzek Pool.
The dual is one of four home events on the schedule for the Dragons, who are under the direction of fourth-year Head Coach Charlie King.
The Dragons have four seniors on this year's roster: Katelin Winter, Lexie Bray, Dru Perry and Kate MacGregor.
Also returning from the 2020-21 team, which had an abbreviated season because of the Covid-19 pandemic, are sophomore Kaytlyn Salter and freshmen Arina Bratamidjaja and Kseniia Gaidamukha.
There are several incoming freshmen looking to contribute for MSUM, including Demi-Lee Carlisle, Linnea Edgren, Danielle Heckaman, Lily Lengerich, Molly Lenmark, Brenda Mendes, Regan Minh, Vasilina Shipilova, Julia Solberg, Kaylie Stucke and Maggie Sullivan.
Former Dragon standout Erin Sullivan has joined the staff as an assistant this season. Sullivan had a decorated swimming career at MSUM from 2014-18. She was All-American in the 100 backstroke at the 2018 Division II National Championships after placing fifth with a time of 54.38. Sullivan is the MSUM record holder in the 100 free, 50 backstroke, 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, 100 butterfly, 100 IM, 200 IM and is part of four relay teams. She is MSUM's all-time leader in points scored and finished with 76 wins.
