The Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team is on the road this weekend for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference contests. MSUM will play at Bemidji State at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and then conclude the weekend by playing at Minnesota Crookston at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Dragons (6-6, 1-2 NSIC) will look to snap a three-game losing streak this week. They lost at UMary, 80-79 and at home to Minot State, 88-74 last week.
MSUM leads the all-time series with Bemidji State 102-86 after sweeping the Beavers last season. MSUM also swept the Golden Eagles a year ago and holds a 38-13 series advantage.
Five Dragons average in double figures, led by junior guard Bryce Irsfeld at 11.4 points per game. Sophomore forward Dane Zimmer averages 11.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while junior guard Gavin Baumgartner averages 11.1 points and 3.5 assists per game. Junior guard Lorenzo McGhee (10.6) and freshman guard Jacob Beeninga (10.0) also average in double figures for MSUM. Beeninga leads with 20 steals while senior forward Gatdoar Kueth has 10 blocks.
The Dragons score 81.3 points per game and allow 75.7.
Chad Walthall is in his 12th season as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead.

The Beavers are 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the NSIC. They lost at home to Minnesota Duluth, 87-64 before winning at St. Cloud State, 97-83 on Saturday. Mohamed Kone averages 14.3 points per game for Bemdji State while John Sutherland averages 13.6 and Derek Thompson 12.4. Thompson leads at 6.0 rebounds per game while Kone is averaging 5.2 assists per game. Bemidji State scores 77.3 points per game and allows 70.7. The Golden Eagles are 4-5 overall and 1-2 in the NSIC. Dixon leads at 6.8 rebounds per game while Dibiamaka leads at 3.5 assists per game. UMC averages 66.4 points per game and allows 70.2. Former Dragon assistant Dan Weisse is in his eighth season as the UMC head coach.
