MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's swimming and diving team fell to Minnesota State-Mankato, 175-69 in a dual Saturday afternoon in Mankato, Minn.
MSUM finished the regular season 3-2 in duals while Minnesota State improved to 7-1.
Senior
Katelin Winter had a good day. She won the 200 free in 2:00.76 and was second in the 100 butterfly at 59.78.
Freshman
Danielle Heckaman was second in the 1,000 free in 11:35.15 and added a second in the 500 free in 5:42.91. Freshman
Julia Solberg was third in the 500 free in 5:45.09 and fourth in the 1,000 free at 11:49.49
Freshman
Vasilina Shipilova was second in the 200 IM at 2:14.66 while freshman
Linnea Edgren was third in the 200 IM in 2:31.17. Shipilova swam a time of 2:31.81 in the 200 breaststroke as well.
Freshman
Brenda Mendes was second in the 200 butterfly at 2:18.95 and third in the 100 butterfly in 1:02.03. Both were season bests.
Senior
Lexie Bray was third in the 50 free at 25.84 and fourth in the 200 backstroke at 2:16.37.
MSUM's 200 'B' free relay was second in 1:45.72. That consisted of senior
Kate MacGregor, Mendes, sophomore
Kaytlyn Salter and
Lily Lengerich.
Sophomore Kseniia Gaydamukha swam a season-best in the 100 free (58.99).
MSUM will compete at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships in Sioux Falls on Feb. 9-12.
