PREVIEW: MSUM Swimming and Diving Travels to Compete Against Vikings, Wolves and Cougars

The Minnesota State University Moorhead swimming and diving team will travel to Sioux Falls, S.D., to compete against Augustana University, Northern State University and the University of Sioux Falls. Competition will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

The Dragons are 0-1 on the dual season after falling to Northern State last weekend. Sophomore Demi-Lee Carlisle placed 1st in the 50 free and 1st in the 100 backstroke. Freshman Madelynn Johnson won the 100 breaststroke and placed 2nd in the 400 IM. Sophomore Lily Lengerich placed 1st in the 100 freestyle. Sophomore Arina Bratamidjaja was 2nd in the 1,000 free, while Freshman Taylor Cook was 2nd in the 500 freestyle. 

Charlie King is in his fifth season as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead. 

About Augustana 
The Vikings are 3-0 on the dual season after defeating the University of St. Thomas last weekend. Freshman Bryn Greenwaldt took first place in the 100 freestyle. Freshman Ella Ward-Zeller, Sophomore Nesrine Jelliti, Sophomore Angelina Chan, and Graduate Student Kamryn Robarge took first place in the 400 medley relay. Lindsie Micko is in her sixth season as head coach at Augustana University. 

About Sioux Falls 
The Cougars are 1-1 on the dual season after defeating St. Cloud State and falling to Augustana in their last competition. Freshman Weronika Mrozek placed 1st in the 1000 freestyle. Sophomore Sarah Knox finished 2nd in the 200 freestyle. Sophomore Inte Pas finished 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke. Senior Valerie Childs took 1st in the 200 Fly. Chris Hamstra is in his fifth season as head coach at the University of Sioux Falls. 

About Northern State

Northern State has competed in six duals so far this season, capturing wins in four of the six. The Wolves are also 3-1 in NSIC duals, beating Concordia-St Paul twice as well as MSUM last weekend. In their last dual, a loss to South Dakota State, the Wolves were led by freshman Lilly Grebner, who had a trio of wins in the 200 IM, the 100 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. Kaden Huntrods is in his second season at the helm of Northern State's swimming program.
