RESULTS
MOORHEAD, Minn. -- In the first of a weekend double-header, MSUM swimming fell to Southwest Minnesota State in dual action 158-66.
The Dragons were led by
Madelynn Johnson, who won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:19.71, almost three seconds better than the second place finisher. In the 100-yard freestyle, MSUM was paced by
Taylor Cook and
Lily Lengerich, who took first and second place respectively. Cook came in with a time of 55.84 while Lengerich came in shortly behind at 56.31.
It was Johnson who captured another win for the Dragons later in the dual, this time in the 100-yard breaststroke. Johnson's time of 1:08.81 was just under a second better than the second place finisher. The Dragon 200-yard freestyle relay team came in a close second, finishing with a time of 1:42.38. Southwest Minnesota State's winning time in the event was 1:42.18.
MSUM hosts another dual on Saturday afternoon where they will host both Concordia-St. Paul and the University of Jamestown. The dual is set to kick off at 3Â p.m. at the Nemzek pool.
