MSUM will open NSIC play in a midweek tilt with Northern State in Aberdeen on Wednesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. from Wachs Arena.

The Dragons went 1-1 at the Regional Challenge in Moorhead last weekend to open up their regular season. MSUM defeated Rogers State 63-40 on Friday night to open their season with a victory. The Dragons were paced by a career game from junior
Mariah McKeever, who scored 18 points, snared a career-high 14 rebounds and had six assists. Senior
Peyton Boom chipped in 13 points and also grabbed 14 rebounds in the win over the Hillcats.
In MSUM's Saturday contest with Central Missouri, the Dragons were led by Boom, who scored 20 points on eight of 14 shooting from the field.
Natalie Jens scored 15 points, including two three-pointers as MSUM fell to the Jennies 69-58. In two games, the Dragons averaged 60.5 points per game at 39.7 percent shooting clip. MSUM made 11 three-pointers over the weekend at a 26.8 percent mark as well. For the weekend as a whole, the Dragons outrebounded their opponents 87-67, a ten rebound margin per game.
Boom leads MSUM in points per game with 16.5 on 56 percent shooting. McKeever (12.5) and Jens (10.5) are also averaging double figures with both guards shooting over 35 percent from the floor.
Karla Nelson is in her 23rd season as head coach of the Dragons. Currently, Nelson sits at 386 career wins heading into this game with Northern State.
About Northern State
The Wolves are currently 1-1 on the season after splitting their games at the Regional Challenge (hosted by MSUM) last weekend. Northern State fell to Central Missouri 75-57 last Friday. However, they did turn around and defeat Rogers State 67-46 the following afternoon. In the victory, the Wolves were led by Rianna Fillipi, who scored 12 points and dished out seven assists. Fillipi is their top scorer through two games, averagin 14 points a game on 40 percent shooting. Northern State as a team has shot 33.3 percent from the field and 17.1 percent from three so far this season. In their two games in Moorhead last weekend, the Wolves averaged 62 points per game as a team. The Wolves went 13-15 a year ago with a 9-12 NSIC record.
Paula Krueger is in her fifth season (14th overall) at the helm of Northern State basketball.
