Bruer, Lane Pace MSUM at NCAA Central Region

JOPLIN, Mo. -- Competing at the NCAA Central Regional, MSUM was paced by Braxton Bruer and Payton Lane as the men finished 23rd as a team with the women finishing 24th.

The Dragon women were led by junior Payton Lane, who returned to run after missing the NSIC Championships due to illness. Lane finished 68th overall with a 22:19.2 time in the women's 6k race. Lane's time is the seventh best 6k run in Dragon history. Kaelyn Berg ran a 22:55.2 for the Dragons, their second-best run of the day. Brooke Baumann rounded out her freshman campaign by running a 23:48.2 with Grace Dorsher finishing just behind Baumann at 23:57.8. Abbie Christen turned in a 24:23.2 for the Dragons who finished 24th as a team with 647 team points.

Braxton Bruer paced the Dragon men with a time of 31:31.8 in the men's 10k race, which placed Bruer 84th. Bruer's time was the seventh best 10k run in MSUM history. True freshman Colin O'Farrell clocked a time of 32:08.4 for MSUM while fellow freshman Joel Brault was right behind him at 32:14.3. James Dorado was not too far behind O'Farrell and Brault as well, finishing with a time 32:26.7. Adnew Stueven and Connor Hayes rounded out MSUM's finishers with times of 32:58 and 33:27.3 respectively. The Dragons finished 23rd as a team with 603 team points.

MSUM has now concluded their cross country slate for 2022. The Dragon distance runners will now set their sights on the indoor track & field season which kicks off on December 2 at the Dakota Alumni Classic, hosted by North Dakota State.
