Dragons Wrap-Up NSIC Conference Meet

WAYNE, Neb. -- The MSUM cross country teams wrapped up their conference meet on Saturday with the men's team finishing eighth and the women's team finishing 11th. 

The Dragon men were led by Braxton Bruer, who finished 28th in the conference's 8k run. Bruer's came in with a time of 26:18.14 while freshman Colin O'Farrell was the next Dragon to finish at 46th place (26:55.77). Adnew Steuven and Joel Brault finished 51st and 52nd respectively. Freshman James Dorado finished 60th with a 27:17.30 time. While the Dragon men took eighth as a team, Augustana took the team conference title. The men's race was won by Augie's Matt Steiger who ran a 24:50.7 in the 8k.

MSUM's women were led by Brooke Baumann, who finished 34th in the 6k race with a time of 23:46.77. Freshman Kaelyn Berg finished at 45th with a 24:14.45 time to sneak into the top 50. Sophomore Grace Dorsher came in at 84th with a 25:38.67 time. The Dragons ran without junior Payton Lane, who was out due to illness. Augustana also took the women's team title while MSUM finished 11th as a team. The 6k run was won by Winona State's Lindsey Cunningham with a time of 20:22.8.

Next up for the Dragons is the opportunity to compete at the NCAA Central Regionals which take place on November 19 in Joplin, Mo.
