Dragons Fall To Marauders In Dual Action

BISMARCK, N.D. -- Dragons swimming traveled to Bismarck on Saturday to take on the UMary Marauders in dual action. While the Dragons had several bright spots individually, the dual eventually went Mary's way with a 119-79 final score. 

Arina Bratamidjaja helped pace the Dragons with a victory in the 1000-yard freestyle. Her 12:05.51 finals time was 11 seconds better than the second place finisher. "Arina did a great job in the 1000," said head coach Charlie King. "She had great turns the whole way through."

Madelynn Johnson won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:19.60 and also took home a victory in the 100-yard breastroke. The freshman finished with a time of 1:09.39 in the event. 

Lacie Stark aided MSUM's efforts with a win in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.53, her first top finish as a collegiate student-athlete. The Dragon 200-yard medley relay team was able to get a close win with a 1:53.31 finals time. Mary's relay team finished just behind them at 1:53.89.

The Dragons will host their first home dual next week as they welcome Southwest Minnesota State on November 11 at 4 p.m. Concordia-St. Paul will then dual the Dragons the following day at 3 p.m.
