AUSTIN, Texas -- Dragon sophomore linebacker
Josiah Behm has been named to the 2022 Academic All-America Football Team selected by College Sports Communicators. Behm was named to the Division II Second Team, the first Academic All-American honor of his career.
The 2022 Academic All-America® Football Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
Behm (along with two other Dragons) was named to the Academic All-District® team in late November. Thus, the sophomore advanced to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. The CSC network then vote on Academic All-District® selections to determine their Academic All-America® teams.
A native of Appleton, Wis., Behm is an accounting major with a cumulative GPA of 4.0 in his time at MSUM. He was one of eight student-athletes who achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA that was named to the Division II Academic All-America® team.
In 11 games in 2022, Behm recorded a team-leading 91 total tackles for the Dragons, including 53 solo tackles. The sophomore also led the team in assisted tackles (38) this past season. He tallied eight tackles for loss including a sack and a half while also having one fumble recovery as well. For his career, Behm has 177 total tackles (90 of them solo), 10.5 tackles for loss and three interceptions.
