MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Dragons men's basketball team will host Bemidji State at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Minnesota Crookston at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday this weekend.
The Dragons are 7-2 on the regular season and 2-1 against NSIC opponents after defeating both Minot State and the University of Mary last weekend. Sophomore
Jacob Beeninga leads the team in points per game with 15.4, followed closely by senior
Lorenzo McGhee with 14.3 points per game. Senior
Gavin Baumgartner leads the team in assists per game with 3.6. Junior
Dane Zimmer leads the team in rebounds per game with 6.9.
MSUM picked up a pair of wins last week over Minot State and the University of Mary. The Dragons stifled the Beavers in the first half en route to a 84-63 win led by
Jaden Stanley-Williams and his 18 points. The senior would show up again on Saturday, scoring 20 points against UMary. MSUM would defeat the Marauders by 33 points (88-55), their largest margin of victory so far this season.
Tim Bergstraser is in his first season as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead.

The Beavers are 5-3 on the regular season and 1-2 against NSIC opponents after falling to both St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth last weekend.
