MSUM scored in the first as Weber scored on an error on a grounder by senior first baseman Jordey Smith.

The lead grew to 3-0 in the fourth, thanks to a two-run single from Losee. A Mayville State error to lead off the inning led to a run.

In the sixth, the Dragon lead grew. McCarthy's RBI double scored Steffen, who had singled to lead off the inning.

Mayville State made a comeback in the seventh with a pair of two-run homers with one out. But Lang settled down and got the final two outs to preserve the win.

In Game 2, Steffen had a huge game, going 2-for-4 with six RBI and a pair of home runs. Weber was 2-for-3 while Smith was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Losee, McCarthy, sophomore pitcher Evey Evans and freshman shortstop Annika Norman had hits for the Dragons.
