MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead softball team was swept by Winona State in a doubleheader on Monday at Scheels Field in Moorhead, falling by scores of 9-0 and 9-3 to conclude the 2022 season.
In the opener, the Dragons were shut down by Winona State senior Liz Pautz, who improved to 24-5 with a two-hit shutout. She struck out 15.

Piper McKibbin each had hits for MSUM. McKibbin had a stolen base.
Freshman
Emma Abbott started for MSUM and pitched two scoreless innings, striking out two while walking one. Sophomore
Evey Evans took the loss, giving up nine earned run in five innings, striking out two.
In Game 2, Evans was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer while Washnieski was 1-for-3 with a triple and RBI. Senior center fielder

Jessie Undem had hits for MSUM.
Freshman
Avery Steffen took the loss for MSUM, giving up five earned runs in two innings. Abbott gave up four runs in 3.2 innings of relief with three strikeouts and eight walks. Sophomore
Reece Dahl pitched a scoreless 1.1 innings with one strikeout.
The doubleheader was the final games as Dragons for seniors
