The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team travels to Sioux Falls, SD to compete in the Augustana tournament this week. The Dragons will face off against Northern State at 11:15 a.m. and Augustana at 6 p.m. on Friday, then face off against Truman State at 9 a.m. and South Dakota Mines at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday this weekend.
The Dragons are 2-2 on the season after losing to Montana State University Billings and Saint Martin's University, then defeating South Dakota Mines and Chadron State last weekend. Junior Bridget Witzmann leads the team in kills with 62. Freshman Emily Shalicky leads the team in assists with 96. Junior Tori Thompson leads the team in blocks with 16, followed closely by senior Elise Bakke. Junior libero Brooke Walthall has 92 digs.
Bob Jones is in his second season as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
About Northern State
The Wolves are 2-2 on the season after losing to Colorado Mesa and Colorado School of Mines, then defeating UT Tyler and Western Colorado last weekend. Senior Sally Gaul leads the team in kills with 42. Senior Keri Walker leads the team in kills with 111. Sophomore Abby Brooks leads the team in blocks with 13. Brent Aldridge is in his 12th season as head coach at Northern State University.
About Augustana
The Vikings are 4-0 on the season after defeating Southeastern Oklahoma State, University of the Southwest (N.M.), Eastern New Mexico, and Texas Permian Basin last weekend. Senior Kate Reimann leads the team in kills with 40, followed closely by Senior Kia Kriener with 38. Senior Avery Thorson leads the team in assists with 129. Jennifer Jacobs is in her sixth season as head coach at Augustana University.
About Truman State
The Bulldogs are 0-4 on the season after losing to Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Missouri Southern, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and Newman University last weekend. Junior Hanna Berry leads the team in kills with 36. Freshman Emma Baierl leads the team in assists with 65. Senior Ainsley Heise leads the team in blocks with 14. David Gannon is in his second season as head coach at Truman State.
About South Dakota Mines
The Hardrockers are 1-3 on the season after losing to Saint Martin's University, Minnesota State University Moorhead, and MSU Billings, then defeating UMary last weekend.
