ST. CLOUD — The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team was swept by No. 7 St. Cloud State, 25-13, 25-15 and 25-14 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Saturday in St. Cloud, Minn. It is the second straight top 10 opponent MSUM has faced in as many days.
MSUM fell to 5-7 overall and 2-2 in the NSiC with the loss while St. Cloud State improved to 12-0 overall and 4-0 in the league
Junior outside hitter Bridget Witzmann had 10 kills for MSUM while junior right side hitter Teeya Doppler had five.
Freshman setter Emily Skalicky dished out 13 assists while freshman libero Macie Wieman had 14 digs. Junior setter Morgan Cleveland had five set assists and six digs.
Junior middle blocker Tori Thompson had two block assists and one solo block.
St. Cloud State hit .337 for the match compared to .036 for the Dragons.
MSUM returns home to host Minnesota State-Mankato on Friday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m.
