MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The MSU Moorhead women's basketball team will host Concordia-St. Paul on Friday at 7:30 p.m. then host Minnesota State Mankato on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. this weekend. 
            
The Dragons are 8-8 on the regular season and 5-7 against NSIC opponents after falling to Southwest Minnesota State University and Sioux Falls University last weekend. MSUM picked up a big conference win over Northern State on Tuesday of last week as well.

Sophomore Natalie Jens leads the team in points per game with 14.9, followed by junior Mariah McKeever with 14.1 points per game. Jens also leads the team in assists per game with 3.2. Senior Peyton Boom leads the team in rebounds per game with 8. Boom surpassed Dragon great Drew Sannes on MSUM's all-time scoring list last weekend. With her 1297 career points, Boom is 18 points shy of passing Liz Klukas on the all-time scoring list. The senior is also fifth all-time in field goals made with 542
             
Karla Nelson is in her 23rd season as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead. She enters the weekend with 393 career wins. 

About Concordia-St. Paul 
            
The Golden Bears are 8-8 on the regular season and 5-7 against NSIC opponents after falling to Bemidji State and defeating Minnesota Crookston last weekend. Junior Ally Gietzel leads the team in points per game with 11.8. Gietzel also leads the team in rebounds per game with 6.9 and assists per game with two. Amanda Johnson is in her eighth season as head coach at Concordia-St Paul. 

About Minnesota State-Mankato 
            
The Mavericks are 14-2 on the regular season and 10-2 against NSIC opponents after defeating Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State last weekend. The Mavericks are currently ranked 11th in the nation per the WBCA Coaches poll and are ranked 15th in this week's D2SIDA Media poll. Junior Joey Batt leads the team in points per game with 17.1. Sophomore Emily Russo leads the team in rebounds per game with 4.4, followed closely freshman Ava Stier with 4.1 rebounds per game. Emilee Thiesse is in her tenth season as head coach at Minnesota State-Mankato.
