MOORHEAD, Minn. –
Jacob Beeninga had his second consecutive game of 30 or more points and the Dragons shot 50.7 percent as a team on Friday evening against Concordia-St. Paul. MSUM defeated CSP 90-64 for their 11th NSIC win of the year.
The Golden Bears began the game hot, shooting 62.5 percent from the field in the first five minutes. MSUM was able to keep pace, shooting 50 percent in that same span.
Jaden Stanley-Williams nailed two early threes for the Dragons. Stanley-Williams would put MSUM up seven points with just over seven minutes remaining in the first half. In a fast-moving first half, the senior netted 11 points including three three-pointers.
Jacob Beeninga would help bring the Dragon lead to 10 points late in the first half with his second three-pointer of the game. Beeninga netted 17 points in the first half, a game-high.
Lorenzo McGhee added 11 points on four of seven shooting as the Dragons carried a 45-27 lead into halftime. MSUM shot 51.5 percent from the field in the half.
Concordia-St. Paul began the second half shooting 62.5 percent, but were only able to trim the Dragon lead to 18 points. This came thanks to threes from Beeninga and McGhee despite MSUM shooting just 36.4 percent from the field in the same stretch. The Dragons would up their field goal percentage to 63.2 percent in a five-minute span, upping their lead to 21 with under 10 minutes remaining.
Beeninga continued to scorch the Golden Bears, scoring 27 points to that point. The sophomore finished with a game-high 31 points, his second straight game scoring 30 or more points. MSUM would command the latter stages of the game, winning 88-60.

Jacob Beeninga became the first Dragon to have back-to-back 30 (or more) point games since Brett Beeson. The MSUM great scored at least 30 in the final six games of his career from February 7 to March 2, 1996.
