MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The MSU Moorhead women's basketball team will travel to Fayette, Iowa, for a matchup against the Upper Iowa Peacocks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, then travel to Winona, Minn., for a matchup against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday this weekend.
The Dragons are 9-9 on the regular season and 6-8 against NSIC opponents after defeating Concordia St. Paul and falling to Minnesota State Mankato last weekend. Senior
Peyton Boom leads the team in points per game with 15.1. Boom also leads the team in rebounds per game with 8.4. Boom is two points shy of passing Jacky Volkert on MSUM's all-time scoring list.
Sophomore
Natalie Jens leads the team in assists per game with 3.3. Junior
Mariah McKeever leads the team in steals per game with 1.6.
Karla Nelson is in her 23rd season as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Heading into the weekend, Nelson has 394 career victories.
About Upper Iowa
The Peacocks are 6-13 on the regular season and 2-12 against NSIC opponents after falling to the University of Mary and Minot State University last weekend. Junior Lydia Haack leads the team in points per game with 15.6. Haack also leads the team in rebounds per game with 5.7, assists per game with 4.3 and steals per game with 1.8. Justin Maass is in his first season as head coach at Upper Iowa.
