MOORHEAD, Minn. – MSU Moorhead swimming & diving picked up its second dual win in as many weeks with a 167-121 victory over Northern State from Nemzek Pool on Friday night.
Cami Mayo would begin her meet with an 11:14.62 in the 1000-yard freestyle to pick up an event win for the Dragons.
Arina Bratamidjaja finished in second with a mark of 11:43.24. In the 500-yard free, Mayo would finish runner-up with a collegiate-best time of 5:31.35 with Bratamidjaja improving on her season-best time in the event with a time of 5:48.31.
In the 200-yard freestyle, freshman
Sophia Verke would clock a 1:58.8 to finish runner-up in the race with the time being just outside the top ten in school history.
Maggie Moore would win the 100-yard freestyle for the Dragons with a new season-best mark of 55.25 while
Demi-Lee Carlisle finished just behind Moore with a time of 55.39.
Taylor Cook would also swim a strong race for MSUM, clocking a 56.69 to finish in third place.
Kelsey Jackson had potentially the most impressive day for the Dragons as she would win the 100-yard backstroke with a mark of 59.41, which is now the ninth-fastest time in MSUM history. The freshman would also win the 200-yard backstroke with a remarkable time of 2:07.9, which is now the fourth-fastest time in program history.
Lacie Stark clocked a 1:02.66 to finish runner-up in the 100-yard while Verke finished runner-up in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:13.53.
Linnea Edgren would win both breaststroke events as the junior swam a 1:11.84 to win the 100-yard before clocking a 2:38.63 in the 200-yard portion.
Iris Diaz would turn in an impressive 1:19.53 in the 100-yard breaststroke to finish fifth overall.
Ruth Pavelski clocked a 2:23.42 in the 200-yard fly to place runner-up for the Dragons with the freshman also taking home runner-up honors in the 100-yard fly with a mark of 1:00.1. In the 50-yard freestyle,
Demi-Lee Carlisle would finish runner-up with a mark of 24.94, which was just off her personal-best of 24.33.
Maggie Moore clocked a 25.53 in the same race to place third.
In diving,
Isabelle Johnson won both 1M and 3M with scores of 216.4 in 1M and 226.2 in 3M. Both
Zoe Bjerke and
Ruth Guy improved on their scores from last week in the same events for the Dragons.
To close the evening, MSUM won the 200-yard medley relay as the team of Moore, Verke, Pavelski and Carlisle would swim a 1:40.18 to win by nearly two seconds. The team of Mayo, Cook,
Joanna Phillips and
Lily Lengerich would clock a 1:44.14 in the same relay to finish in third.

MSUM will compete again next weekend as part of the Sioux Falls Quad meet. The Dragons will meet up with Sioux Falls and Augustana on both Friday and Saturday of next week.
