MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead suffered a concise straight sets loss at the hands of Sioux Falls on Friday inside Nemzek Fieldhouse. The Cougars moved MSUM's conference record to 3-8 with the win.
The two teams would play a spirited first set with the squads trading blows in the early going.

Raiah Mandell all had early kills to help the Dragons earn a quick 5-4 lead. While Sioux Falls would take the lead shortly thereafter, a rare kill from libero
Emily Ramsay would push MSUM in front by a point once again. Three Cougar attack errors and a kill from
Maci Martini would help MSUM go in front 14-11. Sioux Falls and MSUM would remain gridlocked at 17 points before the Cougars imposed themselves. The Cougars would close the set on an 8-2 run which included four Dragon errors as Sioux Falls would win the set 25-18.
In the final two sets, Sioux Falls would fully control both frames. The Cougars would jump in front 13-5 and would utilize that advantage to set the pace of the set as MSUM struggled to return some solid Sioux Falls serves. MSUM would trim that lead to seven points (21-14) before the Cougars would finish the set off scoring four straight points to win the frame 25-14. The final frame would see the Cougars build a massive 16-5 lead as the Dragons continued to grapple with some stellar Cougar attack attempts. That lead would hold firm throughout as Sioux Falls took the set and the match with a 25-10 third set victory. The Cougars hit for a whopping .402 in the match with eight service aces.
