The Price Is Right: Dragons Stroll by Marauders, 95-55

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Seventh-ranked MSU Moorhead men's basketball won its eighth consecutive game on Saturday afternoon behind a monster double-double performance from Jamir Price. The Dragons handled the University of Mary, 95-55 in NSIC play.

How The Game Was Won
  • MSUM outpaced Mary in the first half 41-27, connecting on 54.5 percent of their shots in the half to Mary's still respectable 46.1 percent from the floor.
  • Jamir Price led the way for MSUM, scoring 13 points in the first half. 
  • Price finished with a near triple-double, going for a total of 19 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. 
  • The transfer guard went seven of eight from the field in the contest with a three-pointer. 
  • In the second half, MSUM would own the floor, shooting a whopping 61.5 percent from the field and holding Mary to just a 34.3 percent clip. 
  • The Dragons outscored the Marauders 54-28 in the half. MSUM forced 18 Mary turnovers in the contest and were able to score 40 of their 95 points in the paint. MSUM scored 15 points off those Marauder turnovers. 
  • MSUM had five total players score in double figures as Price was joined by Logan Kinsey, Ja'Kair Sanchez, Owen Hektner and Gabe Myren. Hektner's 14 points is a new career high. In total, 10 Dragons scored a basket in the game. 
  • Sanchez and Hektner combined for 28 points in just 35 combined minutes, making eight of their 14 total shot attempts.
  • The second half momentum shift came after a massive posterizing dunk from Logan Kinsey, which erupted Nemzek Fieldhouse and led to an and-one opportunity. 
  • The Dragons outrebounded the Marauders, who have been one of the top teams in the country in the category, by a 39-29 margin including 10 offensive rebounds.

The Dragons (8-0, 2-0 NSIC) are back at home on Friday and Saturday against Bemidji State and St. Cloud State. The weekend begins with the Beavers at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
