MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The MSU Moorhead women's basketball team will close their 2023 regular season this Thursday and Saturday. The Dragons will travel to Minot, N.D. to compete against the Beavers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, then return to host the UMary at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Dragons are 13-11 on the regular season and 10-10 against NSIC opponents after defeating Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State last weekend. Junior
Mariah McKeever leads the team in points per game with 15.4, followed closely by senior
Peyton Boom with 14.9 points per game. Boom also leads the team in rebounds per game with 8.2. However, Boom missed MSUM's previous two contests with an ankle injury. Sophomore
Natalie Jens leads the team in assists per game with 3.5.
MSUM currently sits in the sixth seed in the NSIC North, but the Dragons could move up and potentially host a first-round playoff game depending on the results of this weekend.
Karla Nelson is in her 23rd season as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead. She enters Thursday's contest with 398 career wins.

The Beavers are 11-15 on the regular season and 7-13 against NSIC opponents after defeating St. Cloud State University and falling to Minnesota Duluth last weekend. Senior Kate Head leads the team in points per game with 16. Senior Natasha Elliott leads the team in rebounds per game with 4.9. Mike Brandt is in his second season as head coach at Minot State.
