SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – MSU Moorhead saw their seven-game win streak snapped as the Dragons fell flat in both games against Augustana University on Sunday afternoon.
Augustana took both games in five innings with a 9-0 game one win and a 17-4 victory in game two.
Game One
Augie would jump out in front in the early stages, plating four early runs on a home run and an RBI single.
Kaelyn Leverson started in the circle for MSUM, surrendering six total runs over one and a third innings. Heading into the third inning, the Vikings would command the scoreboard 6-0.
The Vikings would be held in check until the bottom of the fourth inning where they would score another run on a solo home run. At that point in the game, MSUM had only mustered three hits on Augie's Hailey Houston. Augustana would score two more runs in the fourth inning to pull in front 9-0.
That score would hold true as Augie took game one in five innings 9-0. The Dragons would finish the game with four total hits to Augustana's 10.
Game Two
The Vikings would continue to score in game two, knocking in two runs in the home half of the first inning. This came due to a Dragon error with two runners on as both Vikings scored on the play. The Vikings would push the score to 4-0 in the second inning behind a two-run home run.
MSUM would respond in the third inning as the Dragon bats brought around four runs to tie the game.

Evey Evans scored on an RBI single from
Mack Gallagher, giving the freshman her 43
rd RBI of the season. Davis and Gallagher would later score on an RBI single from
Azalya Lopez.
Augustana would hit another home run in the bottom of the inning to gain a one-run advantage. The Vikings would score three more runs in the frame thanks to their third homer of the game. Augustana would only pour it on from there, scoring nine additional runs in the fourth inning and bringing their home run total to five for the contest. MSUM was kept in check offensively as the Vikings coasted in game two, 17-4 in five innings.
