GRAND FORKS, N.D. – MSU Moorhead continued their strong weekend with another NSIC victory in dual action. The Dragons did not drop a singles or doubles match in a 7-0 win over Bemidji State.
On the dual season, MSUM is now 7-9 following their second win in as many days.
"I was very pleased with our performance this weekend," said MSUM head coach
Alexis Konecne. "We played confidently and it was fun to watch."
MSUM would battle for the team doubles point despite winning all three doubles matches.
Shaelyn Johnson and
Tia Dykema picked up their second win of the weekend with a 7-6 advantage. The pair were forced into a tiebreaker set for the match, which they won 7-3. The same would be true in number three doubles as
Marissa Burian and
Claire Nemmers toughed out a 7-6 win along with a 7-5 tiebreaker set win.
Madison Bell and
Tiannah Gu bounced back following a loss yesterday to defeat Bemidji's Laura Burger and Lily Jones, 6-2.
The Dragons would go on to dominate singles play by taking all six matches in straight sets. Gu secured her 10th singles win with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Nicoleta Anestiadi. Johnson would rebound following her singles loss yesterday afternoon with a 6-2, 6-4 win. Dykema (6-0, 6-1), Burian (6-0, 6-1) and Nemmers (6-3, 6-0) would all win in convincing fashion in their respective matches. To round out the MSUM performance,
