MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The MSU Moorhead volleyball team is at home this weekend with a pair of daunting matchups slated for Nemzek Fieldhouse. The Dragons will take on the second-ranked Concordia, St Paul on Friday at 6 p.m. Then they will host the Warriors of Winona State on Saturday in a 3:30 p.m. bout.

About the Dragons
The Dragons (4-8, 1-3 NSIC), faced two top ten ranked teams last weekend, they competed hard but dropped both matches to St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth. Against the Huskies, junior outside hitter
Jadyn Feist had the best hitting percentage on the team, hitting for .357 and tallying five kills. She also had three block assists. Freshman middle blocker
Raiah Mandell also had herself a nice day with six kills and a .308 hitting percentage. Freshman libero
Emily Ramsay led the team in digs on the day with 12. In their match with the Bulldogs, senior outside hitter
Bridget Witzmann led the team in kills with seven. She also had an ace and four digs on the day. Another Dragon who had a good day was senior middle blocker
Tori Thompson, as she put it down for six kills, and tallied a block. Freshman setter
Madi Colby had a solid day with 16 assists. Ramsay again led the Dragons in digs with eight.
There are a couple other notable Dragons this season that have made a big impact so far. Junior middle blocker
Abby Thompson has been stellar so far with 55 kills, a .328 hitting percentage and 18 blocks. Freshman setter
Karlee Luneckas has tallied 89 assists and five service aces. Sophomore
Jocelin Feutz has also made a significant contribution from her middle blocker position. She has made 17 blocks and put down 33 kills on the year.

Scouting Concordia, St Paul
The second-ranked Golden Bears (12-1, 3-1 NSIC), are coming off of a very impressive victory in a 3-0 sweep of a very good Winona State squad, as well as a 3-0 sweep of Minnesota State. In their match against the Warriors, the Golden Bears tallied 41 kills to Winona's 22. They were very efficient hitting the ball, with a .319 percentage. Junior outside hitter Sophia Andersen led the team in kills with 13, she tallied three blocks as well. Senior outside hitter Jasmine Mulvihill was great as well, knocking down 10 kills with a .450 hit percentage, she added six digs to the mix also. Junior middle blocker Claudia Stahlke was a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the Golden Bears' defense, stuffing Warrior attacks six times for blocks. Other notable players so far this year for Concordia, St. Paul are senior outside hitter Katie Mattson, junior setter Teagan Starkey and junior outside hitter Emma Schmidt.

Scouting Winona State
The Warriors (10-2, 3-1 NSIC), just dropped a game to top-ranked Concordia, St Paul, but they have been fantastic this season so far. As they battled against the Golden Bears, senior outside hitter Sidney Paulson tallied nine kills, sophomore setter Jaci Winchell assisted 16 times and defensive specialists Kylie Welch and Anna Hennessy each had six digs. Over their first 12 matches this season, they have hit for a .212 percentage, while holding their opponents to a .169 hitting percentage. Other Warriors that have performed well so far are: sophomore middle blocker Gianna Vollrath who has 122 kills, senior middle blocker Taylor Pagel who has amassed 44 blocks and senior defensive specialist Rylee Vaughn who leads the team in digs with 201.
