MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead swim & dive will continue its string of home duals on Saturday as the Dragons host Southwest Minnesota State. Events are slated to begin at 2 p.m. from Nemzek Pool. 

The Dragons have not competed since a pair of dual wins over Sioux Falls (122-113) and Northern State (61-75) on October 18.

One-meter diving would begin the meet as junior Isabelle Johnson would lead MSUM with a second-place finish behind a six-dive score of 228.15. Zoe Bjerkewould be right behind Johnson at 218.05 while Ruth Guy also saw a strong showing with a score of 212.40. In three-meter action, Bjerke would turn in a stirring six-dive performance, winning the event with a score of 231.80. The score is now the fifth-highest in school history while Johnson placed second with a 226.55. Guy placed third with a 221.45. 

Relay action would see MSUM's team of Kelsey Jackson, Linnea Edgren, Fernanda Leon and Sophia Verke finish second in the 400-yard medley relay behind a time of 4:05.71. The Dragon team of Lacie Stark, Rose Urick, Ruth Pavelski and Joanna Phillips would place third with a time of 4:08.85. To close the meet, MSUM's team of Demi-Lee Carlisle, Maggie Moore, Verke and Pavelski would absolutely own the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team clocked a 1:39.6 to win the race by over four full seconds as Moore, Verke and Pavelski all swam sub-25 second splits. Not to be outdone, MSUM's team of Cami Mayo, Lily Lengerich, Taylor Cook and Phillips would place third with a time of 1:44.36. Phillips led the way with a nice 25.14 split. 

Leon would showcase her dazzling speed in the 200-yard IM, winning the event with a time of 2:10.61, claiming the race by nearly four seconds. The time is the eighth-fastest in program history. Edgren would place sixth in the same race with a time of 2:22.93. Leon was also phenomenal in the 200-yard fly, claiming another event win with a mark of 2:07.64, the second-fastest mark in school history. 

In distance work, Mayo would place fourth in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:33.01 while Cook was just behind her in fifth at 11:53.41. In the 500-yard freestyle, Cook led the way for MSUM, placing sixth with a time of 5:40.18. Mayo placed seventh behind a mark of 5:42.12 as the race was won by Sioux Falls' Charlotte Gibbs with a Nemzek Pool record time of 5:10.01. Moore would place second in the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:59.80 time as Gibbs would set another pool record, winning with a mark of 1:55.32. Verke would place fifth in the same race, touching the wall at 2:02.6. 

Carlisle would win the 50-yard freestyle with a blazing time of 25.33 as Pavelski would place third for MSUM with a 25.7 mark. Lengerich would earn a sixth-place finish behind a time of 26.66. Moore and Carlisle would take the top two spots in the 100-yard freestyle as Moore won with a time of 54.82 while Carlisle swam a 55.53. Phillips had another phenomenal race for the Dragons, clocking a 56.73 to place fourth.

The sophomore Jackson would place second in the 200-yard backstroke, swimming a 2:15.38 while Stark placed fifth with a time of 2:19.11. Urick would see another strong performance to wrap individual events, earning a second-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a mark of 2:32.89. Edgren would place fifth in the event, touching the wall at 2:39.93.
