WAYNE, Neb. – MSU Moorhead volleyball dropped an NSIC match to 10
th-ranked Wayne State on Friday evening. The Wildcats won in three sets.
Wayne State would utilize an 8-2 run to begin the first set, forcing a Dragon timeout. MSUM would break the Wildcat scoring run after a kill from
Brielle Riess. From there, Wayne State would extend their lead to 11 points (15-4) to force another MSUM timeout. While the Dragons would come as close as eight points, Wayne State would win the set, 25-15. The Wildcats hit for a .385 mark while the Dragons had seven attack errors.
The Wildcats would continue their pace into the second set as they would build another eight-point advantage (12-4). In the stretch, Wayne State hit on a .778 percentage. The home club would continue their efficient attack en route to a 25-11 set two victory.
Abby Thompson led the Dragons with seven kills on 11 swings through two frames.
To begin the third set, Wayne State would build a 10-point lead (!5-5) as the Dragons fell victim to six early attack errors. The Wildcats would take the third set by a score of 25-9 as MSUM had eight total attack errors in the final set.
