MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead women's basketball returns home this week to play host to Minot State and Minnesota Crookston in NSIC action. The Dragons will take on the Beavers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday before battling the Golden Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Matchup History...The Dragons have defeated the Beavers each of the last two meetings, most recently on February 8, 2024. MSUM has dominated the series all-time, having claimed 18 of the last 20 games played against Minot State. The Beavers last defeated the Dragons on February 16, 2023 in Minot, N.D. MSUM holds the most recent victory in their series with the Golden Eagles, winning on January 30, 2024. The Dragons have also commanded the series with Minnesota Crookston with MSUM claiming 14 of the last 17 meetings between the two programs.
Last Time Out...The Dragons stretched their winning streak to six games after conference wins over St. Cloud State and Bemidji State.

Abby Berge scored a game-high 18 points to go along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Ashton Safranski added in 15 points and four steals in the Dragon win.
Coach Nelson Makes History...Again...MSUM's Saturday victory over Bemidji State marked
Karla Nelson's 300th career NSIC win and her 40th career win over BSU. The victory makes Nelson just the second coach in NSIC history to acheive 300 or more league wins. Former Northern State boss Curt Fredrickson is the only other coach to accumulate 300 or more NSIC wins (373), making Nelson the first female head coach to acheive the milestone.
Berge Got Her Shine...Sophomore guard/forward
Abby Berge landed on the NSIC 'Shining Five' for the week after she averaged 15.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals across a pair of Dragon victories last weekend. Berge connected on 63.1 percent of her field goal attempts during the week as well. It is the third straight week where a Dragon player has been named to the league's 'Shining Five''.
Triple-Double Watch...Freshman guard
Ashton Safranski flirted with a vaunted triple-double on Friday night against St. Cloud State. Safranski scored nine points along with seven rebounds, six assists and three steals. The Fargo, N.D. product is currently averaging two steals per game, which is third in the NSIC.
Locking It Down...In their six-game winning streak, MSUM has been exceptional on both defense and on the glass. The Dragons have held opponents to an average of 56.3 points per game in the six-game campaign. What's more impressive is MSUM has held opponents to just 34.3 percent shooting in those six games (123-358). Heading into this weekend, MSUM holds the NSIC's top defense, limiting the opposition to 59.8 points per game. The Dragons also hold a plus-37 rebound advantage over the last six games combined (245-208).
Quick Scout...Minot State bolsters three players that average nine or more points per game led by Lara Dobbins, who scores 10.1 points per game. Saturday's matchup with the Golden Eagles will feature one of the NSIC's premier scorers in guard Emma Miller. The junior leads the conference, netting 22.3 points per game at a 42.5 percent success rate. Miller is second in the NSIC in three-point field goals made with 22 so far in 2024-25.
