BISMARCK, N.D. –
Hunter Hayes picked up his ninth win of the season on Thursday night to lead the MSUM efforts against 13th-ranked Mary. The Marauders took the dual 43-3.
Hunter Hayes would earn MSUM's first victory of the dual at 141 pounds. Hayes scored a first period takedown on Kaden DeCouteau to gain a lead. Hayes would grab another takedown and hang on to win by decision, 6-3. It is Hayes' ninth win of the season.
Jacob Reinardy would collect an early lead over Leo Mushinsky with a takedown in the first period. Trailng 3-2, Mushinsky would rally back to take a 5-3 lead and eventually win 9-3 over Reinardy.
To conclude the evening
Airin Spell would put up a battle against eighth-ranked Luke Tweeton. Spell trailed 3-2 heading into the third period after earning escape to start the second. Tweeton would start in the bottom position in the third and earned an escape to push his lead to 4-2. Spell would gain a penalty point to cut the deficit to one before Tweeton scored a takedown with less than a minute remaining. Spell would eventually fall by decision, 10-4.
