OWATONNA, Minn. – MSU Moorhead tennis earned a doubles win, but fell in team match play to Minnesota State, 7-0. 
 
The team of Luzmary Diaz Castillo and Shaelyn Johnson would earn a doubles win in number one action against the Mavericks. Castillo and Johnson would defeat Minnesota State's Chiara Carnelutti and Avery Stilwell, 6-1. While the win helped the Dragons in their quest for the doubles point, the Mavericks would take number two and three doubles to earn one team point.

Castillo would be embroiled in a stellar singles bout with Carnelutti with the transfer coming up just short. Castillo won the first set, 6-2, but would fall in the ensuing two sets to Carnelutti, 6-4, 10-7. Tiannah Gu would battle in the number three singles match as she would rally in the second set after falling 6-1 in the first. Gu would eventually fall to Avery Stilwell, 7-5 in that second set as Stilwell would secure the victory.
