MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead women's basketball ran into a formidable Concordia, St. Paul squad on Friday evening in NSIC action. The 16th-ranked Golden Bears defeated the Dragons, 78-54.
Inside The Game
- Concordia, St. Paul dominated the opening 10 minutes, leading by 16 points (24-8).
- The Golden Bears shot 66.6 percent from the floor, including making all six of their three-point attempts.
- CSP would continue to command the scoreboard in the second quarter, stretching their lead to 31 points late in the period.
- The visitors led 45-18 at the break as Terryn Johnson led MSUM with seven points. CSP shot 57.1 percent from the floor in the second frame.
- Midway through the third quarter, CSP would hold its largest lead of 36 points (64-28). The Golden Bears led 69-35 after 30 minutes of play.
- MSUM's bench crew helped whittle the CSP lead down, but the distance proved far too insurmountable by game's end.
- The Dragons would end the game on a 7-2 run, led by a three from DJ Davis as well as points from freshmen Caylin Kelly and Tresa Baumgard.
- CSP claimed the game, 78-24, as Johnson and Ashton Safranski each scored nine points to lead MSUM.
