Gage Florence and senior middle blocker
Jocelin Feutz have been named the Minnesota State Moorhead Athletes of the Month presented by Buffalo Wild Wings for the month of September 2025.
Florence recorded a historic month throughout September, setting the NSIC career receptions record on September 20 against Wayne State College. The Sawyer, N.D., native has made 307 receptions in NSIC games throughout his career, snapping the previous record of 291 held by Mary's Danny Kittner. Florence also reset the MSUM all-time record for receiving yards against the Wildcats with his career total now sitting at 3,241 yards. The previous record, held by Dragon great Damon Gibson, was 3,122 receiving yards. Additionally, Florence enters the month of October just 41 receptions shy of the NCAA Division II record held by St. Anselm's Justin Bernard (386). Across four games in September, Florence tallied 31 receptions for 297 yards and two touchdowns. Florence had two games with 10 or more receptions during the month against Winona State (9/13/25) and Minnesota Duluth (9/27/25).
Feutz found her rhythm early for Dragon volleyball and did not look back throughout the month, helping MSUM to an 8-5 start to the 2025 season. In 50 sets played, Feutz tallied 108 kills at a .261 hitting percentage with her kill mark the third-highest on the roster. The Pulaski, Wis., native was also a stellar defensive presence for the Dragons, turning away a total of 27 attacks to lead the team during the month. Feutz had 21 block assists in September to go along with six block solos, both of which were team-highs as well. The senior helped lead the Dragons to open Northern Sun action on September 19 against Augustana, stamping 15 kills, three total blocks and an impressive .444 attack percentage. Feutz also had 13 kills and four total blocks in a victory over Minnesota Crookston on September 23. Against Emporia State on September 13, Feutz had five total blocks to go along with eight kills.
