| By:
MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead volleyball looks towards a split week of NSIC matches. The Dragons play host to Bemidji State on Thursday for a 6 p.m. match before traveling to take on 17th-ranked Minnesota Duluth on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Live video and stats will be available at msumdragons.com. Moorhead will look to build a win streak after wins over Minot State and UMary last weekend.

How (Reverse) Sweep It Is...Moorhead claimed another come-from-behind victory on Saturday against the University of Mary. The Dragons captured another reverse sweep victory over the Marauders, their fourth of the season already. MSUM has earned reverse sweep wins over St. Edward's (9/5), Dallas Baptist (9/6) and Jamestown (10/3) as well this season.

Killer Riess...In MSUM's dramatic victory over the Marauders, sophomore outside hitter Brielle Riess was exceptional in the attack. Riess tallied 22 total kills in the match, the second-highest mark of her career. The Marshall, Minn., had a .286 hitting percentage for the match and finished with 12 digs as well. The performance for Riess was her 20th career double-double and her eighth of the 2025 season.

Double-Double Watch...Along with Riess, junior Maci Martini also logged a double-double for the Dragons against the Marauders. Martini notched 12 kills to go along with 18 digs in the Dragon victory. The Pequot Lakes, Minn., native has three double-doubles so far this season while currently leading MSUM with 216 total digs.

My, Oh My-a...Sophomore middle blocker Mya Pfeifer returned to the court last weekend and continued to showcase her defensive prowess. The Moorhead, Minn., native turned away four attacks in the three-set win over Minot State on Friday. Pfeifer would tally four more total blocks on Saturday against the Marauders. Currently, Pfeifer is second on the roster with 33 total blocks.

We See The Improvement...After picking up consecutive wins last weekend, the Dragons moved their overall total to 11 wins so far in 2025. It marks the second consecutive season where Moorhead has improved on its overall record. The 11 wins so far this season is tied for the most victories since the 2018 campaign.

Kari Thompson is in her third season as MSUM's head volleyball coach.
