MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead volleyball honored five seniors to close the 2025 regular season on Saturday afternoon. The Dragons fell in the three sets to 11th-ranked St. Cloud State.
The Huskies would control the first set, building a lead of three points (8-5). Moorhead would get back to within two points after a kill from
Raiah Mandell and an ace from senior
Amanda Lisi. St. Cloud State would push forward from there, expanding their advantage to seven points (17-10). The Huskies would continue to lead by seven points before holding a nine-point lead late in the frame (23-14). The Dragons would come back to within seven points before the Huskies claimed the stanza, 25-17.
Both teams were more evenly matched to begin the second set with the Huskies holding a narrow 9-8 lead. Moorhead would trail by just two points midway through the set after a kill from
Brielle Riess. St. Cloud State would put together a run from there, scoring on five of six rallies to lead, 18-12. Eventually, the Huskies would lead 21-13 before the Dragons began to stir again. Lisi dropped in a service ace before a kill from
Jadyn Feist cut the deficit to six points (23-17). St. Cloud State would go on to win the set, 25-19.
Both teams would begin the third stanza trading five-point runs. The Huskies would score the first five points of the set before Moorhead responded with five points of their own.
Emily McPhee had a service ace to cap the run for Moorhead. From there, St. Cloud State would surge, scoring on a 13-2 run to take a commanding 18-7 advantage. A kill from
Jocelin Feutz would get the Dragons to within 12 points late in the set (21-9) before the Huskies finished off the frame, winning 25-13.
