MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead women's basketball is set to wrap up their time in Missouri on Tuesday morning in a matchup with Central Missouri. The Dragons and Jennies are set to battle at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday in Warrensburg, Mo.

Matchup History...The Dragons and Jennies have met up a total of nine times across their histories with Central Missouri holding a 6-3 lead in the series. The squads battled last season in Moorhead with the Jennies winning by a 70-52 score. Abby Berge led the Dragons in last year's meeting, scoring 11 points with four rebounds. Central Missouri has won each of the last four meetings with the Dragons dating back to the 2021-22 season. Moorhead last defeated the Jennies on November 8, 2019 in a neutral site contest in Aberdeen, S.D. The programs first met on December 18, 1992. On that day, the Lori Ulferts-led Dragons topped the Jennies 74-64 in Mankato, Minn.

Two Legends...Toe To Toe...Both Dragon head coach Karla Nelson and Central Missouri head coach Dave Slifer have spent their careers amplifying Division II women's basketball. The pairing has a combined all-time record of 1,250-567 with all but six of their 63 combined seasons coming at non-Division II schools (all from Slifer). Nelson coached her 700th career game for MSUM last weekend against Missouri Western. Slifer remains one of NCAA Division II's all-time winningest coaches, having accumulated 823 career wins in 37 seasons as a head coach.

Double-Double Terry Strikes Again...In MSUM's season-opening contest against Missouri Western, senior post Terryn Johnson added another double-double to her career total. The Kindred, N.D., native scored 10 points while snaring 11 rebounds for the Dragons. Johnson was also her usual self from the floor, scoring at a 60 percent clip. In her career, Johnson has logged a total of 21 double-doubles, including 11 during the 2024-25 campaign.

Safranski Shines Again...In Moorhead's victory over Emporia State on Saturday, sophomore Ashton Safranski paced a strong second half. Safranski scored a game-high 18 points to go along with six assists, five rebounds and five steals. It is the second-best scoring output of Safranski's career so far. Against the Hornets, Safranski made all eight of her free throws and shot 90 percent from the charity stripe for the weekend.

Abby John Is Like That...True freshman guard Abby John turned in a superb debut weekend for the Dragons. John averaged a team-best 11.5 points per game for MSUM, led by 20 points in her collegiate debut against Missouri Western. John shot an effective 70 percent from the field against the Griffons, including three made three-pointers.

Kelly Sharp Off The Bench...Sophomore Caylin Kelly played a key role off the bench for the Dragons last weekend. The Clark, S.D., native scored nine points on Friday against Missouri Western before netting 10 points against Emporia State. Kelly was key in MSUM's second-half effort, knocking down a pair of threes in the victory. For Kelly, her 10 points scored against the Hornets matches her MSUM career-high.

Do-It-All Berge...Junior hybrid Abby Berge did a little bit of everything for Moorhead last weekend. Berge scored 10 points to go along with eight rebounds and one steal against Missouri Western. The Sunburg, Minn., native scored eight points with seven rebounds and three steals against the Hornets on Saturday.

Glass 'Em...Moorhead came out of the first weekend of the regular season with a plus-seven advantage on the glass. This included outrebounding Emporia State 38-29 on Saturday.

Karla Nelson is in her 26th season as MSUM's head women's basketball coach.
