Concordia-St. Paul would go on to stretch their back to six points (18-12), eventually leading 24-13 after a 10-1 burst. The home club would win the set, 25-14.

The Golden Bears would continue that strong pace into the second set, building a 13-7 lead before MSUM cut the deficit to four points after a kill from Ruby Bones.
