MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead men's basketball concludes the calendar year at home as they play host to Northern State and Jamestown. Moorhead hosts the Wolves on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. before taking on the Jimmies on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Matchup History...Moorhead bolsters a three-game win streak over Northern State entering Thursday's contest. The Dragons swept the Wolves last season, most recently defeating Northern State on January 30, 2025, 77-62. The series has always been competitive, with the Dragons holding a narrow 19-16 lead since the 2008-09 season. Northern State last defeated the Dragons on January 10, 2023. On that day, the Wolves topped the Dragons in Moorhead, 72-71. Saturday's meeting with the Jimmies will be the first as conference opponents. Moorhead last played Jamestown on December 1, 2015 in an 86-74 win. The Dragons have won their last three meetings with the Jimmies. Jamestown last defeated the Dragons December 3, 1998, 86-68.Â
Last Time Out...The Dragons are coming off a split week of results after defeating Minot State on Thursday, 90-79. Moorhead dropped an NSIC road contest to UMary on Saturday, 96-90.
KB Is A Grinder...Senior post
Kabine Kaba played with reckless abandon against Minot State on Thursday. Kaba scored 11 points in the victory, but also logged 14 rebounds and two steals. The effort was Kaba's first career double-double as a member of the Dragons. Kaba has had two games with 10 or more rebounds this season. The senior blocked three more shots against UMary on Saturday, his third performance with two or more blocked shots.Â
Shoss Deep In His Bag...Senior
Sam Hastreiter has really found his rhythm offensively for the Dragons. Hastreiter turned in two double figure scoring outputs last week, beginning with an 18-point effort against Minot State. The Lincoln, Neb., native logged a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds against UMary on Saturday. Hastreiter also had five assists against the Marauders. For the week, Hastretier averaged 17.5 points and nine rebounds for Moorhead.Â
Hondl In The Grind...True freshman
Sam Hondl has leveled up his play for Moorhead, playing some valuable bench minutes. Against UMary on Saturday, Hondl dropped in a needed 11 points for MSUM to go along with eight rebounds in 23 minutes of action. Hondl scored eight points against Minot State on Thursday in 12 minutes.Â
Gooden Quietly Dominates...Junior guard
Dominic Gooden continued to score at a sneaky rate last week for the Dragons. Gooden scored 15 points against Minot State on Thursday, but struggled from the field. On Saturday against UMary, Gooden found his footing again, scoring 24 points on 50 percent shooting. The Cleveland, Ohio, native also made all eight of his free throw attempts. Gooden leads the Dragons in scoring, averaging 17.5 per game.Â
Top Offense...The Dragons continue to bolster the NSIC's top scoring offense, averaging 89.2 points per game. Moorhead also holds the league's second-best overall field goal percentage, clipping an impressive 50.3 percent. MSUM also has the second-highest three-point field goal percentage, marking a 39.5 percent split.Â
