MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead men's basketball saw another rough evening on both ends of the ball on Saturday against visiting Jamestown. The Jimmies defeated the Dragons, 93-83.
How It Happened
- The Dragons would fall into a hole early in the first half as the Jimmies found a rhythm from long distance, leading 11-3.
- Jamestown continued to surge on offense as they would hold a 12-point advantage midway through the first half (27-15).
- While the Dragons would lean on Levi Birkholz in the first half, the Jamestown lead did not dip below seven points.
- Jamestown would lead 48-38 at halftime with Birkholz scoring 12 points for Moorhead.
- The Jimmies shot an impressive 60.9 percent from the floor in the half.
- Led by star guard Anthony Walters, Jamestown would race out to a 19-point lead midway into the second half.
- It was not until late in the second half where Moorhead attempted to make a run.
- The Dragons would whittle the deficit down to four points after a triple from Landin Hacker.
- Moorhead would only get as close as four points as the Jimmies sealed the game with great late-game effectiveness.
- Jamestown claimed the game 93-83 behind a 57.7 percent mark from the floor.
